PURPOSE: To enhance preservability of articles and enhance workability and safety of putting-away and taking-out works by providing multi-stage container shelves and calling up a required shelf to hand by the automatic operation to put-away articles and take-out them.

CONSTITUTION: Lifting side plates 13 are vertically moved by pushing an operation switch 14 designating a required box 2 provided at the front face of container case 1 and a required box is lifted by the fitted fork 9. The box 2 is projected to the outside of the container case 1 by moving forward the fork 9 and the box can be positioned at the most convenient level for containing or taking-out of a preset article by vertically moving the lifting side plates 13 at the condition that the box 2 is kept by the fork 9. After a requisite article is contained or taken out, the box can be placed at the original position of the shelf 3 through the reverse order against that at the calling-up time by pushing a return switch 15. This device is easily made further compact by using only one motor as the driving force and the economic merit is increased.
