PURPOSE: To provide a raising and lowering device for a vehicle turning fifth wheel by which a failure such as causing oil leakage and so on if unnecessary force is applied to an actuator even when the fifth wheel in the fifth wheel raising and lowering device is housed can be eliminated operation can smoothed and weight can be reduced at the same time.
CONSTITUTION: The other ends of operation arms 3 whose one ends are supported with a vehicle body B and which can make turning motion are connected to upper ends support arms 7 of a wheel carrier 6 to support the fifth wheel 5 horizontally when it is housed so as to be capable of making turning motion freely, and both ends or the center of a leaf spring whose center or both ends are installed in the vehicle body B, are engaged with the lower ends of the support arms 7. Thereby, since opration can be smoothed when a raising and lowering and lowering device is operated and at the same time weight of the raising and lowering device can be supported to a certain degree, a failure such as causing oil leakage and so on if unnecessary force is applied to the actuator 2 can be eliminated, so that there is possibility of constituting a hindrance to vehicle travel due to generation of the so-called hanging- down phenomenon.
