Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a design simulation method capable of mapping a two-dimensional (2-D) image on a three-dimensional (3-D) object without generating distortion.
CONSTITUTION: The 3-D object which is an object to be measured is divided into plural ranges with an equal area and a sampling point is set up in each divided range. The positional data of the sampling point set up in each divided range are measured by a 3-D measuring instrument. The shape of the 3-D object is defined by a computer based upon the positional data and a point on an 2-D image data formed independently of the 3-D object is allowed to correspond to a point or the surface of the 3-D object to determine the color of the surface of the 3-D object.
