Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce an organoplatinum polymer by reacting a 5,6,11,12- tetradehydrodibenzo[a, e]cyclooctene represented by a specified formula with a platinum complex represented by a specified formula.
CONSTITUTION: A platinum complex represented by the formula: PtxLy (wherein L is a ligand such as an olefin or phosphine; x and y are positive integers; x is 1-10; and x/y=1/(6-1) (e.g. bis(η-1,5-cyclooctadiene)platinum is dissolved in a solvent such as dichloromethane, and a 5,6,11,12-tetradehydrodibenzo[a, e]cyclooctene represented by formula I (wherein R1 to R8 are each a monovalent group such as H, 1-20C alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, halogen or cyano) and used in such an amount as to give a cyclooctene/platinum complex molar ratio of 1/20-20/1 is added to the solution and reacted at 1-100°C. After the reaction, the formed precipitate is filtered and washed to produce an organoplatinum polymer represented by formula II (wherein n is a positive integer of 2 or greater).
