Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a novel N-substituted triarylmethanesulfonamide pigment useful in a photographic picture forming system and a picture recording material contg. the pigment by allowing the layers respectively to have specified pigment providing compd. and developing substance.
CONSTITUTION: A substrate having a picture pigment providing compd. selected from the compds. shown by formular I and a developing substance capable of being colored by oxidizing the Y part or the one capable of being made colorless by reducing the Y' part is incorporated in the same or discrete layer to constitute a picture recording material. In formula I, B is one or plural carbon cyclic rings, T is a five or six-membered ring, Y is a group shown by formula II (where E is a group at a position ortho or para to -OHr E' is a specified univalent group, and G and G' are a hydroxy or methoxy group), Z and Z' are the part completing the chromophore system of a triarylmethane pigment, and Y' is the quinoide form of Y.
