Title:
MEDIUM FOR HEAT CARRYING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH069950
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the title medium which has good flow and efficiency of heat transfer and can be used by flow carrying, by dispersing a dispersed phase consisting entirely of a heat storage material having a melting point higher than that of the continuous layer phase and a specified particle diameter in the above continuous phase which is liquid at least when it is used.

CONSTITUTION: The medium is obtained by dispersing a dispersed phase consisting entirely of a heat storage material (e.g. low-melting paraffin) having a melting point higher than that of the continuous phase and a mean particle diameter of 0.2-50μm in the above continuous phase (exemplified by water containing a dissolved antifreeze, e.g. an aqueous ethylene glycol solution or an aqueous propylene glycol solution and containing a surfactant such as a nonionic one). Because the dispersed phase can always be kept finely dispersed in the continuous phase, this medium has good flow, and because the dispersed phase consists entirely of a heat-storage material, it has good efficiency of heat transfer and is suited to construct a high-density energy carrying system.
