PURPOSE: To provide an electric reel for fishing having improved delivering operability of a fishing line.

CONSTITUTION: This electric reel is provided with a line length measuring means to measure the length of delivered fishing line, a memory means to store a prescribed line length and a depth-setting means controllable by a controlling means when a line stop ON/OFF switch is turned ON and capable of stopping the delivery of the line by switching a clutch mechanism from a spool-free state to a winding state when the delivered length of the fishing line reaches the prescribed length stored in the memory means. The spool-driving motor to drive the spool stops its rotation in the line-delivering direction by a command transmitted from the control means when the delivery length of the fishing line reaches the prescribed length in the actuated state of the depth-setting means.
