Title:
SIMPLIFIED DIGITAL PAD SENSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3079004
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a high density switch closed path type touch pad sensor with reliability which can be easily manufactured.
CONSTITUTION: In this touch pad sensor, plural first conductive stripes are constituted so as to be adjacent to plural second conductive strips. The first and second conductive stripes are substantially present in a single plane, and they are mutually skewed in a floor plan, and ideally orthogonally crossed. Those conductive stripes are separated by an insulator extending along at least one conductive stripes in order to separate one conductive stripes from the other conductive stripes until a local pressure is added to the area of the pad. When the local pressure is added, those conductive stripes and the insulator are deformed until one of the first conductive stripes forms a conductive path with at least one of the second conductive stripes. The formation of the conductive path can be detected by using a driver and a receiver.
