Abstract:
PURPOSE: To minimize the resistance value of a conductor and power consumption by feeding a boiling gas for cooling, along a shim conductor for connecting the outer side shell body of a superconducting magnet and a pressurized container thermostat, removing solid conducting heat and insulating the shim conductor by a Teflon tube. CONSTITUTION: Conductors 44 and 45 of a multiplex connector/shim conductor integrated body 20 are passed through a partition wall 40 in the state of being put in tetrafluoroethylene (Teflon (R)) tubes 42 and 43 from the connector 32 of an external fluid 35, passed through a center tube 36 and made to exit lower ends 46 and 47 of the Teflon tubes. Then, they are further extended from the low temperature side end of the center tube 36 to an end connector 34, passed through a wall 38 of a pressure container and connected to a shim magnet by a thermostat connector 26. Thus, when gaseous helium for cooling is fed from the pressure container along the conductor, the gas is made to flow through the lower end of the conductor, then flows to the lower ends 46 and 47 of the Teflon (R) tubes and discharged from a connection part 49 to the atmosphere. Thus, the heating and power loss of the shim conductor is reduced, and this conductor connection integrated body for preventing a short circuit between the conductors is obtained.
