Abstract:
PURPOSE: To completely prevent a short circuit of a power source and the like at the time of release of locking during a printing operation.
CONSTITUTION: Separation action detection means 11, 12 and emergency power OFF control means 11, 12 are provided. When a lock releasing operation is carried out before completion of a printing operation a head drive source (38V) can be forcibly turned OFF before a power supply terminal part 22T of a locking mechanism and a power receiving terminal part 2T of a cartridge are electrically completely separated from each other.
