PURPOSE: To suppress generation of leakage by machining a volute unit molded in a turning or fixed scroll side by an involute curve with a crossing part in directions X, Y serving as the involute basic circle, and also forming the volute unit into a volute shape gradually thinned toward the outside from the center part.
CONSTITUTION: A fixed scroll 23 is formed in a shape where a volute unit 29 rises up from a flat plate 27, and its periphery is fixed to a frame 28 fixedly supported to an internal wall surface of a closed case 1. A turning scroll 25 is formed in a shape where a volute unit 33 rises up from a flat plate 31, and this volute unit 33 is symmetrically meshed relating to the volute unit 29 of the fixed scroll 23, to form a compression chamber 35 between the volute unit 29 and the volute unit 33. The volute unit 33 in a side of the turning scroll 25 is formed into a volute shape by an involute curve with a crossing part in directions X, Y serving as the involute basic circle 36, but a thickness D in the center part is largest, to provide a shape successively thinned toward the outside thereafter.
