CONSTITUTION: In a metal-thin-film type magnetic recording medium, a lubricating layer is provided on a metal thin film. The lubricating layer is formed by adding at least either of organic compound having a hydrophilic group or fluorine substituted compound, wherein a hydrophilic group is provided and fluorine is substituted for hydrogen other than the hydrophilic compound, into solution, wherein perphloropolyether is dissolved into fleon, and by applying the material to the film.
