PURPOSE: To save trouble of repeating number entry by recording a destination number to an unarrival report, reading it with an original and entering automatically the destination number.

CONSTITUTION: When the transmission is not finished even with several times of dialing due to a busy opposite party or the like, a setting value coding section 4 makes code information as to the setting mode such as a destination number, a line density and a read density and adds the result to an unarrival report and a picture recording section 5 provides it as an output. Then when the information is sent again, a code information discrimination section 2 discriminates the unarrival report and sends the setting mode to a control section 6. The control section 6 sets the mode according to the information to command the dialing to the destination to a transmission reception control section 3 and makes transmission. When an unarrived original is stored in an original storage section 3, code information of a document file management number (not the number and mode setting information) is added to the unarrival report and the document stored in the storage section 3 is sent by reading only the report at the 2nd transmission.
