PURPOSE: To prevent generation of a trouble of fusing of ash component and to relize a stable operation in a treatment of combustible waste by using a thermal cracking furnace.
CONSTITUTION: When combustible waste is thermally cracked by a thermal cracking furnace and a thermally cracked remain is afterburned in an afterburning chamber 6, a part connecting a generated gas outlet space of the thermal cracking furnace and a space for afterburning of the thermally cracked remain is given gas flow resistance by a thermally cracked remain filled layer 20 or a breaking valve 27, so that gases in the both spaces can be prevented from mixing with each other. A recombusting chamber 5 to burn gas generated in the course of the thermal cracking and the after-burning chamber 6 to afterburn the remain are arranged in the same furnace space. In addition, the thermal cracking furnace and the afterburning chamber 6 are connected through a remain transfer conveyor 21 to keep heat held by the remain as much as possible and to promote ashing.
