PURPOSE: To obtain a circumference confirming device which can always obtain an image which has the less strain and the wide viewfield, during the shift of a vehicle.
CONSTITUTION: A circumference confirming device is equipped with an image pick-up element 2 for converting an optical image to electric signals, lens 1 for focusing an optical image on the image pick-up element 2, supporting device 4 which supports an image pick-up device 3 consisting of the image pick-up element 2 and the lens 1 in a turnable manner, driving device 5 for revolutionally driving the image pick-up device 3 around a rotary shaft, driving device control circuit 6 for controlling the driving device 5, signal processing circuit 9 for processing the output signal of the image pick-up element 2, and a memory 10 for memorizing the output of the signal processing circuit 9. Further, a memory control circuit 11 which controls the writing into the memory 10 and the read-out from the memory 10 through the displacement of the image pick-up device is used, and the image signal read out from the memory 10 is displayed on a display device 14.
