Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a fish meat flake product having uniform water content without causing scorching even from a raw material having high water content by feeding fish meat to a twin-screw extruder, removing isolated liquid by a liquid removing means and adjusting water content of the fish meat.
CONSTITUTION: A fish meat or the fish meat, seasoning and other additive are fed from a feed hopper 17 to a twin-screw extruder 18 and the fish meat is heated using a heating barrel 4b while carrying out carrying and mixing, etc., by a twin screw 2. A free liquid separated in heating is removed by liquid- removing means part 1. A discharge amount of water content due to the liquid- removing means is controlled by a liquid-removing amount-controlling member 6 to control water content of the fish meat to a desired value.
