PURPOSE: To increase recording density by regulating the Curie temp. of a magneto-optical recording layer to a specified temp. or above and using a specified alloy contg. at least one of specified additive elements as the material of a reflecting layer.

CONSTITUTION: In the magneto-optical recording medium with a magneto-optical recording layer and a reflecting layer, the Curie temp. of the recording layer is regulated to ≥220°C and an Ag alloy contg. an element selected among at least Rh, Pt and Au is used as the material of the reflecting layer. The objective magneto-optical recording medium having excellent reproducing characteristics at ≤600nm wavelength and excellent corrosion resistance is obtd. and a high density optical information record can be reproduced.
