Abstract:
PURPOSE: To economically obtain the water treating contact material which has the higher porosity and water absorptivity than heretofore and allows the good adhesion of microorganisms by effectively utilizing the scrap of rock wool.
CONSTITUTION: The objective material is constituted by adding a hydraulic inorg. binder, such as cement to the loosened rock wool or its scrap, then humidifying and kneading the mixture, and molding the mixture to a required shape.
