PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display device which can finely display video corresponding to a double speed signal such as a VGA signal without raising manufacturing costs.
CONSTITUTION: A start signal 9 instructing start of operation is inputted to a shift register 5 of a X driver 31 and a register 5 of a X driver 32, the shift register 5 outputs successively ON signals 11 to each sample-and-hold circuit group 7 based on a clock signal 10. The sample-and-hold circuit of the X driver 31 samples a delay video signal 34 based on the ON signal 11 and holds it. The delay signal 34 is a signal which is delayed by a time of one half of an effective horizontal scanning period for a video signal 12 and this delay video signal 34 is generated in a delay circuit 33. On the contrary the sample-and-hold circuit of the X driver 32 samples a video signal 12 based on the ON signal 11 and holds it.
