PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a three-dimensional display method by which a moving picture is displayed without using spectacles by generating a two-dimensional image obtained by projecting the image of an object to be displayed from the line-of-sight direction of an observer, respectively independently changing the luminance of the generated two-dimensional image for every display surface and displaying the two-dimensional images on plural display surfaces. SOLUTION: Plural surfaces, for example, the surfaces (101 and 102) are set in front of the observer 100 so as to generate the images converted to 2D (105 and 106) being the image obtained by projecting the image of a three-dimensional object 104 to be presented to the observer 100 to the surfaces (101 and 102) from the gazing direction of both eyes of the observer 100. Synthesizing technique by using computer graphics is mentioned as a method for generating the image converted to 2D. The images converted into 2D (105 and 106) are displayed on both surfaces 101 and 102 so as to be superimposed when they are viewed from one point on a line linking the right eye and the left eye of the observer 100. Then, the luminance of each of the images converted into 2D (105 and 106) is changed corresponding to the depth position of the object 104 while keeping the total luminance in the case of viewing from the observer 100 constant.
