PURPOSE: To stabilize the quantity of the ice of a cup of cold drink by being equipped with a device to detect whether or not the ice of the cup of the cold drink exists at an ice discharge opening.

CONSTITUTION: When the quantity of ice 9 loaded in an ice storing room 16 is further increased, an intermediate cover 34 is pushed up in the upper direction by the ice 9 and an abutting piece 35 pushes a micro switch 39. Then, by the stopping command signal outputted from an ice making machine controller 53, the ice making machine is stopped and simultaneously, a motor 12 and a refrigerator 24 are also stopped. Thus, the time interval from the start up to the stop of the ice making machine and the average storing time of the ice 9 stored in the ice storing room 16 are not influenced by the selling quantity of the cold drink with ice and are influenced by the fact whether or not there is the ice 9 of the cup of the cold drink in an ice discharge opening 26. For that reason, even when there is not the ice 9 of the cup of the cold drink in the ice discharge opening 26, an ice making machine is not started, and for the ice 9 stored in the ice storing room 16, it can be prevented that the selling quantity of cold drink with ice is small, the average storing time becomes long, the liquid-shaped ice is obtained and an ice quality is changed.
