PURPOSE: To obtain a transmission device which can easily attain transmission operation and is advantageous in a cost and weight.
CONSTITUTION: A shift-up lever 15 and a shift-down lever 16 which respectively extend left and right directions are installed on a shaft of a steering mechanism 13. The levers 15, 16 can oscillate in front and rear directions independently on each other. When a driver pulls the levers foreward, an operation condition is brought about, and when the driver releases them, a non-operation condition is brought about. The levers 15 and 16 are interlocked with the steering mechanism 13 with one twentieth speed. In order to start a vehicle from a stopped condition, it is judged whether the levers 15, 16 are operated or not. When the shift-down lever 16 is operated once, a reverse condition is established. When the shift-up lever 15 is operated once, a first speed condition is established. When both of the levers are operated, a neutral condition is established by a control unit 5.
