Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method for producing a polycarbonate capable of not only efficiently recovering and reusing an unreacted phenol compound in drain without using a prescribed apparatus and reducing a polycarbonate production unit but also supplying a polycarbonate having excellent qualities.
CONSTITUTION: In a method for reacting an alkali aqueous solution of a phenol compound containing a dihydric phenol with phosgene in the presence of an organic solvent to produce a polycarbonate through a polycarbonate oligomer, a drain containing an unreacted phenol compound generated from the reaction system is brought into contact with a solution of the polycarbonate oligomer to transfer the unreacted phenol compound into the solution of the polycarbonate oligomer and to polymer and treat the solution of the polycarbonate oligomer containing the unreacted phenol compound.
