PURPOSE: To rapidly and surely wash the coating material infiltrating the spacings between the right and left flanks of the respective gears of the gear pump the coating material and the right and left side plate parts of a casing holding these flanks from both sides without allowing colors to remain.
CONSTITUTION: Shafts 6, 7 of the respective gears 2, 3 are bored with long holes 8, 9 across the right and left side plate parts 4, 5 of the casing 1 supporting these shafts 6, 7 and washing liquid supplying flow passages 12, 14 for supplying a washing liquid from one sides of the shafts 6, 7 opened with these long holes 8, 9 to the inside thereof. The respective shafts 6, 7 are bored with washing liquid holes 16, 17 opening at the peripheral surfaces of the shafts 6, 7 through the peripheral wall of the long holes 8, 9. Recess groove-shaped washing liquid flow passages 18, 19 by which these washing liquid discharge holes 16, 17 communicate with a coating material chamber 20 are formed on the parts of the right and left side plate parts 4, 5 in sliding contact with the respective gears 2, 3 or the right and left flanks of the respective gears 2, 3.
