PURPOSE: To attain multi-video conference with a few number of lines by selecting a single mobile ground station and connecting the selected station to a fixed ground station.
CONSTITUTION: A fixed ground station 10 has a large sized antenna 11, a communication equipment room 12 and a video conference room 14. A mobile ground station 20 has a small-sized antenna 21 mounted on a bus type vehicle, a communication equipment room 22 and a video conference room 24. The fixed ground station 10 and the mobile ground station 20 are interconnected by a digital communications line through the relay of a communications satellite 30. When multi-video conference is held between the fixed ground station 10 and plural mobile ground stations 20, a line monitor controller of the fixed ground station 10 selects a single mobile ground station and makes video conference between the selected mobile ground station 20 and the fixed ground station 10 through the use of a line. In this case, the mobile ground stations not selected receive a channel from the communication satellite 30 to make monitor display and voice output similar to those of the ground station 10.
