PURPOSE: To provide a pressure control valve which allows a spool to be smoothly moved while being excellent in pressure performance.

CONSTITUTION: Each outer diameter d1 of the land sections 31a and 31b of a spool 6 is made smaller than each outer diameter d of the support sections 34a and 34b of the spool 6. By reason of the fact, since the land section of the spool are smaller in outer diameter than the support sections of the spool, the edge of each land section is hit against the edge of the spool when the spool is moved from side to side, which makes the spool smoothly move without being caught thereon, so that pressure performance is thereby enhanced.
