Title:
INHIBITOR OF INTESTINAL MUCOSAL ATROPHY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH059121
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a medicine, containing a nucleic acid ingredient composed of inosine, cytidine, a guanosine 5'-monophosphate (5'-GMP) salt, uridine and thymidine at a specific molar ratio and capable of suppressing intestinal mucosal atrophy in patients under total parenteral nutrition (TPN).

CONSTITUTION: A inhibitor of intestinal mucosal atrophy under total parenteral nutrition is obtained by dissolving effective amounts of respective nucleic acid ingredients in amounts so as to provide inosine at 4 relative molar ratio (0.80 wt./vol.%), cytidine at 4 relative molar ratio (0.73 wt./vol.%), a salt of 5'-GMP, i.e. guanosine-5'-monophosphate at 4 relative molar ratio (1.22 wt./vol.%), uridine at 3 relative molar ratio (0.55 wt./vol.%) and thymidine at 1 relative molar ratio (0.18 wt./vol.%) in a diluent, e.g. distilled water, physiological saline solution or Ringer's solution, as necessary, adding suitable additives such as a dissolution adjuvant, e.g. sodium salicylate, a buffer agent such as glycerol, pH adjustor such as citric acid and sterilizing the resultant solution by thermal sterilization, etc. Normal digestive tract function can be maintained even under TPN by utilizing the aforementioned inhibitor and oral nutriment ingestion is facilitated. Thereby, the recovery period can remarkably be shortened.
