Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce the size of the entire body of a discharge lamp starting device for which a circuit is used by supplying a required amount of energy for pre-heating a filament of the discharge lamp.
CONSTITUTION: A discharge lamp starting device is provided with a Cockcroft- Walton circuit A connected in parallel to both ends of a discharge lamp L, and a pre-heating circuit for pre-heating the filament of the discharge lamp L by the charging/discharging current of at least one condensor of the Cockcroft-Walton circuit A.
