Abstract:
PURPOSE: To draw a horizontal segment at a higher speed and to write the initiation and the termination of the segment into a bit map memory after controlling them for each dot.
CONSTITUTION: When a horizontal segment is written in a bit map memory 4 where one boundary consists of a prescribed number of memory elements Mk (k: additional character to divide the memory) and the dot data on a display device are stored, an address generating part 2 produces a display address Ad from the image data on the horizontal segment sent from a CPU. Then a mask ROM 31 produces a mask instruction signal Sm which masks the undesired CAS signal or RAS signal of each memory element Mk of the boundary to be written in response to the initiation address Xb and the termination address Xe of the address Ad. Then a memory controller 32 masks the CAB or RAS signal to decide the initiation and the termination of the horizontal segment.
