Title:
ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3003433
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a laser printer capable of keeping high voltage impressing time in the case of detecting remaining amount of toner to a minimum so that the fatigue of a photosensitive drum can be reduced, detecting the remaining amount of the toner, and also obtaining good printing result.
CONSTITUTION: A developing bias is impressed on a developing device 22 by a high voltage power source unit; when a detection voltage VS generated in a detection terminal 31 is equal to or more than a reference voltage Vr, it is judged that there is a specified amount or more toner 32b in a toner tank 32a, and the high voltage power source unit stops outputting the developing bias (AC component) to the developing device 22. On the other hand, when the detection voltage Vs is smaller than the reference voltage Vr, the toner 32b in the toner tank 32a is judged to be less than the specified amount, and no-toner warning expressing that is acoustically and visually performed by a buzzer and a display panel, etc.
