Title:
WINDOW MOUNTING STRUCTURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0616156
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide more safety for a pedestrian by constituting the structure wherein a load acts even on the upper face of one member the end of which is fixed, to absorb the shock with deformation of closed sectional structure, when the shock load of a pedestrian acts on a windshield panel.

CONSTITUTION: Respective one edges of the first member 9 and the second member 11 are joined to a cowl 3 and the insert portion 11c of the second member 11 is inserted into the inserted portion 13 of the first member 9, so that a closed sectional structure 15 is formed of both members 9, 11 and a cowl top panel 5. The lower edge of a windshield panel 1 is fixed to the joint 11b of the second member 11 via bond 17. When a pedestrian knocked off gives load onto the lower end of the windshield panel 1, the load is transmitted from the insert portion 11c to the inserted portion 13 and the closed sectional structure 15 is deformed for shock absorption. If additional load is given, the insert portion 11c is released from the inserted portion 13 and the second member 11 is further deformed for shock absorption.
