Abstract:
PURPOSE: To smooth operation to bring a grinding wheel into contact with a work and separate it therefrom and to effect complete dust protection by rotatably inserting a vibration shaft into an eccentric shaft concentrically to an inner peripheral axis and arranging the vibration shaft such that the axis of the vibration shaft to the tip of which a grinding wheel holder is fixed is caused to coincide with the arcuate central line of the shape in longitudinal section of the peripheral surface groove to be processed of a work.
CONSTITUTION: A vibration shaft 4 is arranged such that the axis thereof is caused to coincide with the arcuate central line of the shape in longitudinal section of the peripheral groove, to be processed, of a work. The vibration shaft 4 is eccentrically supported on a hollow eccentric shaft 10 pivotally supported on a grinding wheel rest 22, a grinding wheel holder 5 is fixed to the end of the vibration shaft 4, and the vibration shaft 4 is rotated in vibration at a high speed around an axis in a state that the eccentric shaft 10 is clamped so as to perform superfinish grinding. Moving-aside operation of the grinding wheel during charge or discharge of a work is performed in a way that the eccentric shaft 10 is released from clamp and the eccentric shaft 10 is rotated around the outer peripheral axis of the eccentric shaft 10. This constitution causes revolution of the vibration shaft 4 around the rotation axis of the eccentric shaft 10, causes the grinding wheel to rise or lower in an arcuate state and make contact with or separate from the work.
