PURPOSE: To obtain an image receiving layer having excellent transfer properties and to facilitate handling under normal conditions by employing polyvinylacetal resin, in the form of an underlayer, between the image receiving layer and basic material.
CONSTITUTION: In a thermal transfer recording sheet wherein an image receiving layer transferable to a recording paper is provided on a basic material, polyvinylacetal resin is employed as an underlayer between the image receiving layer and the basic material. Consequently, excellent coating property is achieved at the time of production and excellent exfoliation property is exhibited only at the time of thermal transfer. Since exfoliation property can be differentiated remarkably between the heating part and non-heating part in case of partial transfer system of image receiving layer, the image receiving layer is not exfoliated nor repelled and an image having sharp edge can be reproduced faithfully with high density on a plain paper.
