Abstract:
PURPOSE: To restrain the metal flow in a billet during extruding and to stably extrude an extrusion shaped material without developing blister by evacuating the air in a container before starting the extrusion of the billet.
CONSTITUTION: In the extruding formation, the rear end part of the billet 13 is cooled at 0-300°C at the intermediate stopping position. Before extruding formation of the billet 13, a solenoid change-over valve 9 is in the demagnetizing condition and the inner part of a vacuum tank 20 is made to be in the vacuum condition by driving a vacuum pump. At the time of drawing the container 1 near a die 3 side, the projecting part of an evacuating device 50 is abutted on the end part of a die ring 5 and the end surface at the die side of the container 1 is stopped in some gap 6 condition with the die 3 surface. The billet 13 pushed into the container 1 is abutted on the die 3, and at the same time of starting the rising of the pressure in a side cylinder, the solenoid change-over valves 9, 46 are excited and the inner parts of the container 1 and the vacuum tank 20 are made to be in the gas permeable condition to execute the evacuation. The pushing stem 14 is continued to advancing direction to crush the billet 13.
