PURPOSE: To avoid curling of image receiving papers, make it possible to print even on image receiving papers made of ham material without fail, and further load and take out the image receiving papers easily.

CONSTITUTION: A top surface 11a of a tray 11 mounted so as to reciprocate in the horizontal direction on a main body frame is formed into a plane which is substantially horizontal. While an image receiving paper is laid on this top surface 11a in a plain state, an ink ribbon B and a heat generating head such as a thermal head 21 which presses the ink ribbon to the image receiving paper are provided on an upper part thereof, and a guide member 25d having a downward L-type cross section is provided on right and left sides at a back end part of the tray 11.
