Title:
ACTIVATION OF ORGANIC CHLORIDE COMPOUND-DECOMPOSING MICROORGANISM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2603183
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for effectively activating an organic chloride compound-decomposing microorganism, capable of preventing increase in culture cost due to mass-culture using methane as the carbon source and of simplifying a large-scaled fermentor equipment.
CONSTITUTION: This method for activating an organic chloride compound- decomposing microorganism is carried out by culturing and activating bacteria containing one or more kinds of a Methylosinus, a Methylocystic and a Methylobacter respectively having an organic chloride compound decomposition activity using methanol and methane gas as the carbon source respectively in the first stage and the second stage or by culturing the bacteria using methanol as the carbon source in the first stage, subsequently fixing the bacteria to a carrier and bringing a gas containing methane and oxygen into contact with the fixed bacteria for activation thereof in the second stage.
