PURPOSE: To obtain excellent images over a long period of time by preventing the flocculation of a polymerized toner of the two-component developer and well maintaining a flow property.

CONSTITUTION: This developer is a mixture composed of the toner particles obtd. by using an aq. soln. contg. polymerizable monomers and coloring agents and subjecting the soln. to a suspension polymn. and the carrier particles which consist of a metallic material as a core material and are obtd. by coating the surface thereof with a resin. The content of the toner particles is 2 to 12 pts.wt. per 100 pts. wt. developer. The developer also includes the polymerized toner substantially consisting of the toner particles obtd. by the suspension polymn. using the aq. soln. contg. the polymerizable monomers and the coloring agents and the inorg. particles fixed and integrated to the surfaces of the toner particles by applying thermal and/or mechanical impact force thereto. Then, the impact of the carrier on the toner is relieved and the developer having adequate electrostatic chargeability is obtd. Since the polymerized toner and the inorg. particles are integrated, the peeling of the inorg. particles is obviated in spite of the image formation to be repetitively executed.
