PURPOSE: To perform a more effective access of polymerase chain reaction by using a flat sheet having a plurality of through-holes and arrays of the cover part for each of reaction tubes formed between the through-holes.
CONSTITUTION: When a heating plate 28 is lowered to the upper surface of a tray assembly 16, a cover 10 is pressed toward the upper surface of a reaction tube 18, and its upper surface stationarily contacts a heat cycler block 20. The cover part 12 of the cover 10 seals the open end parts 24 of the respective pipes 18 by being pressed to the annular upper surfaces of the open end parts 24 of the pipes 18. The silicon rubber cover 10 is a heat barrier, and holes 14 are important to circulate the air under the heating plate 28. When the heating plate 28 is engagingly locked to the upper edge part of the tray 16, sealed air is quickly heated to a temperature higher than the temperature of the heat cycler block 20 by radiation through the holes 14 and staying heat, and kept at that temperature.
