PURPOSE: To reduce the size of a device for which a rotary joint and a motor for driving load are used.

CONSTITUTION: This rotary joint 10 the direct driving motor has a cylindrical rotary joint 18 which is constituted by freely rotatably connecting a rotating body 12b to a static body 12a via bearing 14 and providing the inside thereof with an optical path 16 for optical communication, a motor 22 with consists of a cylindrical rotor 20b of the diameter larger than the diameter of the rotary joint 18 and a stator 20a and is mounted on the outer periphery of the rotary joint 18, a stationary flange 24a which is arranged on one end 22a, 18a side of the motor 22 and the rotary joint 18 and a rotary flange 24b which is arranged on the other end 22b, 28b side of the motor 22 and the rotary joint 18. The rotary joint 18 is rotated by rotation of the motor 22.
