PURPOSE: To enable to effect a sterilization treatment in an autoclave apparatus keeping the movability of the camera cable by filling the connector shell connecting an image pickup device and the camera cable with an insulating and heat resisting resin.
CONSTITUTION: On the side face of the rear end of the connector shell 16, an opening is made, through which sealing resin 7 is filled in the connector shell 16. With such resin, the circumference near the end part of the camera cable 3, the circumference of the connecting part of the contact pin holder 15 and the signal cable, the gap between the contact pin holder 15 and the fitting hole for the contact pin holder, the gap between the inner peripheral face of the connector shell 16 and the outer peripheral face of the second insulator 14, the part around the circular opening through which the camera cable 3 is passed, etc., are sealed. As the material of the sealing resin 7, substances e.g. tetrafluoroethylene polyether imide, liquid crystal polymer, ceramics of silica-alumina or inorganic binder, etc., are used and the material with durability against the sterilization treatment by water vapor at a high temperature and under a high pressure in the autoclave apparatus is selected.
