PURPOSE: To provide non-directional reception characteristics by selectively using the stronger one of either the received signal of a bipolar antenna or the received signal of a unipolar antenna.
CONSTITUTION: A unipolar antenna 3 and a bipolar antenna 6 showing different directional characteristics are utilized on the same polarizing plane and among the respective received signals, a stronger signal is selectively used. Therefore, the non-directional reception characteristics are provided. Further, since the directional antenna is selectively utilized, the possibility of simultaneously receiving radio waves reflected from a building or the like having phase difference and original radio waves is reduced rather than the case of using one non- directional antenna. The bipolar antenna 6 is provided with feeding points 6a and 6b and suitable for receiving radio waves at 30MHz-3GHz, and this range is suitable for the reception of a normal glass antenna. Further, a distance (a) between the feeding points 6a and 6b considerably affects the directional characteristics of the bipolar antenna 6, and the range of 1mm-65mm is preferable. In this range, the directional characteristics between the bipolar antenna 6 and the unipolar antenna can be distinctly distinguished.
