PURPOSE: To provide a work assisting device with which a hand can be stabilized at a desired position above a work object, with which various types of fine work can be performed precisely and speedily, and with which a physically handicapped person is capable of performing a specified work by legs.

CONSTITUTION: A device comprises a placing table 2 on which a work object is placed, a guide member 5 movable to form a plane surface above the placing table 2, and a receiving base 7 moving along the guide member 5 and placing a hand or leg on it for performing work to the work object placed on the placing table 2. The placing table 2 may be installed to be height-adjustable to a base 1. The receiving base 7 may be provided with a pressing mechanism pushed down by the hand or leg to press the work object.
