PURPOSE: To enable the conversion of the impact pressure of a high velocity and high pressure by detonation to a liquid pressure or elastic pressure.
CONSTITUTION: A combustion chamber 1 is so set that its sectional area diminishes gradually from one end 1A on progression of a flame. A convergent part having the min. sectional area is formed at the other end 1B. The liquid surface of liquid or the end face of the elastic body of a pressure chamber 12 faces the aperture of the other end 1B. A combustible gas and oxidizing agent are maintained under a prescribed pressure by compression chambers (buffer tanks) 9, 10 and are then mixed. The mixture is packed into an ignition chamber 4, a guide path 2 and the combustion chamber 1 and is then ignited. The sectional area of the combustion chamber decreases on progression of the flame in the combustion chamber 1 and, therefore, the pressure increases. An extremely high pressure is generated at the other end 1B. This high pressure is converted to the elastic pressure of the liquid or elastic body in the pressure chamber 12.
