CONSTITUTION: Two pairs of jack devices 2a and 2b are arranged to the peripheral surface of the existing column 1 of a building, one pair of jack devices 2a only of them are expanded, and a built-up column member 8 is mounted to a specific position under the jack device 2b to bear the same jack device 2b. After that, the jack device 2a is reduced and, at the same time, reaction force is borne on the horizontal member 8 to expand the jack device 2b, and the building is jack up. After the completion of expansion, the jack device 2a is reduced in the same manner to mount the built-up column horizontal member 8 and a built-up column diagonal 9 to specific positions. The jack-up and mounting of the built-up column horizontal member, etc., are repeated to jack up the building up to a specific height.
