Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new structure for preventing a damage of a heat pipe caused by freezing of working fluid within a heat pipe type heat exchanger.
SOLUTION: A flexible insert 22 for use in preventing a heat pipe from being damaged by freezing of working fluid 20 is arranged at a high temperature side 16 of the heat pipe 10. Working fluid 20 and in general a small amount of the same liquid 26 are filled within the insert 22, inert gas 28 is filled in a residual section within the insert 22 and an inner pressure of the insert 22 is set to be higher than a pressure of the residual volumetric section of the heat pipe 10.
