PURPOSE: To provide a connection component for optical connector in which the wear, etc., of the ferrule of an optical connector on one side is scarcely generated even when the loading/unloading of the optical connector is repeated in the connection of the optical connectors.
CONSTITUTION: The connection component 7 for optical connector is constituted of a member in which the back surfaces 10 of ferrules 1a, 1b are abutted on each other, and they are integrally fixed, and the optical fiber 6 is fixed by inserting to the fiber insertion holes 4a, 4b of the ferrules, and pin fitting holes 8 for connection are formed on both sides holding the fixed area of the optical fiber 6 between them. The pitch interval between the optical fibers 6 of a connection end face 5a side on one side is made equal to that between the optical fibers 6 of a first optical connector 13, and that between the optical fibers 6 of, a connection end face 5b side on the other side is made equal to that between the optical fibers 6 of a second optical connector 14, and the optical connection of respective optical fibers 6 can be performed via pins fitted in respective fitting holes 8 of the first and second optical connectors 13, 14 and the fitting holes 8a, 8b of the connection component 7 for optical connector.
