Abstract:

PURPOSE: To increase C/N as compared with the case where reproduction is carried out without vanishing bits.

CONSTITUTION: In a method for reproducing information from a multilayered magneto-optical recording medium including at least 1st and 2nd layers 1, 2 each having vertical magnetic anisotropy and formed with bits B1 having magnetization in a direction (A) and bits B0 having magnetization in the reverse direction, the bits B1 or the bits B0 in the 2nd layer 2 are vanished and then reproduction is carried out.
