Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable a problem where the number of drop-outs increases and output fluctuation occurs due to reduction in mechanical strength of a paint film to be solved and electromagnetic conversion characteristics and durability to be improved.
CONSTITUTION: A surface roughness (Rrms) of a magnetic recording medium is 8-14nm, a binder layer thickness is 300 or less, and a filling density x of a ferromagnetic metal powder is 2.0-2.5. A magnetic powder with a specific area of 50m/g or more and an amount of adsorbed water y (Wt.%) within a range of (number 2), kneading and dissipation are performed by a binder with 15-20 part, thus enabling a ratio of an amount of adsorbed binder to the magnetic powder to a non-absorbed amount to be +-0.2.
