CONSTITUTION: At the time of drying paste material, which includes a getter material and which is spread on the surface of an upper side shield, high frequency current is allowed to flow on a metal conductor arranged close to the upper end shield, and the upper end shield is heated by induction heating so as to dry the inside and the surface of the paste material simultaneously. The getter material is brought in close contact with the upper end shield, and sintered. A magnetron having a large getter effect of the manufactured getter, stabilized electron emission and an excellent micro-wave oscillating characteristic for a long time can be obtained.
