Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an inexpensive mechanism capable of surely inhibiting the backward tilting of the body of an attendant-operated motorized wheelchair beyond a predetermined tilt angle.
CONSTITUTION: A steering front wheel 2 and driving rear wheels 3 are supported on a body frame 1, a control handle 6 to be operated by an attendant is supported on the body frame 1 at a position behind a seat 4, an interlocking member 9 for steering the steering front wheel 2 is connected to the lower end of the control handle 6, and a tilt limiting member 13 is mounted on the lower end of the extension of the control handle 6 to limit the backward tilting of the body frame 1 beyond a predetermined tilt angle.
